Here is an example of one our gunsmith's favorite things to do to a 1911.  Start with a standard 1911, in 45 ACP, of course, and then start tinkering with it.  This one has a low profile BoMar adjustable combat sight, STI carbon fiber and titanium lightweight trigger, extended slide release, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, Ed Brown commander style hammer, Ed Brown beavertail grip safety, S&A magwell/ mainspring housing checkered at 20lpi, 20lpi checkering on the front strap, 40lpi checkering on the front of the trigger guard, 20lpi checkering on the mag release button, all blended and fit to as near to perfection as a man can make it.  The finish is hardchrome by Checkmate.  Not seen in this photo is the trigger job, throat and polish and the lowered and flared ejection port.  A fine gun like this is built to order and not kept in stock.  We'd be happy to build one for you.  Call for option pricing and turnaround time.
